Well -- to whoever may be reading this, we've gone an entire month now with no activity. I think it's safe to say that Mallow Hallow is no long of interest to anyone. I'm very happy to have what little time I spent here with all of you. I had some great threads with people, and I hope the rest of you did as well. I'm sorry I wasn't able to keep the community alive -- my attempts at plot seemed to be too little, too late, it appears. And I know I myself wasn't exactly a paragon of activity in the end months. All I can say is that I was new to the job, and maybe my ambitions were bigger than my abilities. I did try, but sometimes, that's just not enough.

Sail, I did try to get in contact you a few times at first. If you think you can do something with the community, you're more than welcome to. Me? I'm off.

All right, folks. AC/HMD for October has ended -- and if I was going strictly by that, we'd be down to seven characters who both replied and made AC. As it is, we are as of today at a grand total of fourteen characters currently in this game. The question has become, where do we go from here?

The fact of the matter is, Mallow Hallow was never really a large game, but recently it has become an tiny one, with not a lot to show in way of activity. We mods have tried to drum up some interest, but very little appears to have happened. So we leave the question up to you: What do you want to do about Mallow Hallow? Shall we continue on as more of a musebox/dressing room setting? Are there any further changes you think we can make to encourage the game to grow again? Should we just continue on as we are for now and see if things improve in the coming month? Please respond with what you think. It would be much appreciated.

As actual activity requirements are a new thing to the community, I'm keeping it low for the nonce to ease everyone in while still encouraging activity. As we all get used to it, the requirements may change. we'll see.

Hello all! The week is over, and we do indeed have a new additional mod! Send congratulations to 'Sail, who plays our local Doll (hollowbutnotempty), who will now be assisting me with modly things.

As for the looming Actual Activity Check, this is my plan:

AND/OR
-->One comment thread of at least ten responses/ten comments overall in either mallowhallow or mallow_logs a month

I'm starting out possibly a little low in the "comments" section simply because we haven't had a "real" activity check before, and ten might be easier for our playerbase to handle. It's late enough in September that I'm not going to require this to happen for this month, but with October looming, it might be a good idea to try and get in the habit. Suggestions are still welcome on AC requirements, however!

Possible Change #2: An Actual Activity Requirement

Activity has been lacking a bit around here as of late, and I'd like to do something to try and encourage people to post more. There have been some suggestions as to having an actual activity requirement for the game to encourage posting. I've considered this before, and my current feelings on an activity check for mallowhallow are as follows:

-->One post in either mallowhallow or mallow_logs a month
AND/OR
-->One comment thread in either mallowhallow or mallow_logs a month

I figure something like this is easy to do, well-suited to our "one week IRL = two days IG" schedule, and still ensures that our current roster of characters would be doing things in-game. However, I'm open to comments and ideas! (Mainly about the comment thread -- should it be a specific length? Should it be longer if you don't have a post from your character in either main comm?) Any thoughts on activity requirements (even "I hate them, noooo") are welcome.

Possible Change #1: Mod Additions

Based on the response to the "End of August AC/HMD & Discussion" post, I've decided it would be a good idea to revive the mod applications so that the game can have a second mod. After all, I can't be online all the time (as a recent bout of never-ending thunderstorm proved), and having someone else to help come up with event ideas and other additions/tweaks to the game would be very helpful.

Remember, there is a reapp procedure to get you back into the game quickly should you miss one or two HMDs! After that you have to app again regularly.

I'd also like to open up this post to talk about directions we can take Mallow Hallow in and what can be done with the game. We recently had a great suggestion from one of the players about a possible Persona-world-based event that could work very well as a sort of Halloween-based event for the month of October. Any further thoughts on that would be nice. Or any thoughts on anything at all we can do to keep this game fresh and interesting. Things seem to have slowed down rather a lot lately (and I know people get busy and have other things that they need to attend to), and -- I'd just like to get people's thoughts.

Please report any mistakes that the mod may have made -- this was my first AC/HMD, and while I did my best to doublecheck the list of characters, it's still possible I missed someone.

Now, someone has already contacted me saying that they missed the HMD and would like to know how to stay in the game. For those of you whose characters are on the drop list, you can do a "re-app" to get your characters back in the game. Simply comment to the application page with "Re-App" n your subject line, and fill out this form for the characters you'd like to save:

This will be reviewed, and you should be back in the game in no time.

Warning, though: This only works for the first two times you miss an activity check. Once you miss the third one, I'm going to insist you wait three days, then submit a regular application. Tracking the "hmd" tag for mallow_ooc should help in avoiding this fate.

Districts Page Update + June AC/HMD

Hello all! New mod Victoria here with some news -- the Districts Page has been updated! You'll noticed that each district now has sections for its leader and any notable landmarks. I've added all the significant locations that I've found in the community, but feel free to tell me if I've missed any. I've also added a form for any future landmarks that people might come up with -- just comment to the page, and I'll do my best to get your location added to the list. (I also color-coded each section, basically because I could and I thought it a nice touch to give each location it's own "feel." Please tell me if any of them are hard to read.)

And just like that, toward the end of in-game May 20 (Saturday), the otherworldly effects begin to putter out before they come to a complete fade by the start of in-game May 21 (Sunday). There is no notice from any of the district leaders this time, and the natives have nothing more to add.

Event Start

Starting May 18th, the Orlea buildings that were previously in shambles by Yusuke's doing have suddenly been rebuilt and stand tall and pristine, as though nothing had happened to them. General nature around Orlea appears a little sick, namely with regards to its nature such as trees and flowers, on "May 19" (out of character, Sunday-Wednesday) but regain their color and health by the start of "May 20."

As for the rest – this time, effects are universal across the nation.

As per player suggestion, the game has adopted a slower pace. Effective starting May 19th, 1 OoC Week = 2 IC Days. Day changes will occur on Sundays and Wednesdays. For a visual representation, please see the newly posted calendar, which also indicates when events and activity checks will be taking place.

Too, if there are any new landmarks (buildings, places, the works) to note on the districts page, let us know here or there.

Good afternoon, Mallow Hallow. We realize there's been understandable concerns about the game as of late, so for the sake of speeding things along, we've a few things to report:

- Applications will no longer run under a cycle and be open 24/7. (The application team will hopefully be ready within the week.)
- The taken character list will be updated in its entirety with recent acceptances.
- As per a player suggestion, we are holding a poll regarding the IC:OOC day ratio. Currently, the game runs at a 1:1 ratio, but given the lax pace we strive to create, this may be understandably too fast. As such, we would like to hear your opinions on what ratio you would best prefer. Please direct your comments to this thread.
- Please don't forget to comment to the AC. Those on hiatus are, of course, exempt.

We apologize profusely for the constant delays. We have admittedly been busy due to real life and exams and the like, but intend to make a strong comeback with the start of May. We greatly appreciate your understanding.

With Tronctor's tired rage, the effects of the event come to a close at exactly midnight of Monday the 15th. Players are free to continue posting to the event, provided the threads are backdated to before Tronctor's announcement.

Characters will still have the barest access to their newly acquired abilities. For instance, someone from Highcrest will have the occasional spike of strength enough to lift a table single-handed without breaking a sweat. However, the extent to which characters can use their powers will be severely limited; Orlea will only allow temporary hovering, growth will be limited in Whitewood, and districts with draining abilities such as Lochwell and Astralfield may easily knock a character out after one use (and results will be widely unstable).

That said, please reply here with your character's name, canon, and canon point. Please keep the canon point succinct. We intend to post these alongside the rest of the information on the taken list for ease of communication between players. Thank you.

As Tronctor's report predicted, there's a disturbance throughout the nation due to the portals, which connect the worlds, settling. However, this is very much a welcome disturbance to Mallow Hallow, as the energies drawn from the far off worlds are allowing this world to flourish, and each district will find its corresponding foreigners to be blessed with a thematic power.
